Bhopal: Fourth accused held in property fraud worth Rs. 63.52 lakhs


Bhopal: Crime branch have nabbed Laxmichandra Kumbhkaar who is accused in fraudulently selling BDA property worth Rs 20.51 lakh. Kumbhkaar was nabbed from Katara Hill where he was living with a different identity. He along with Rupesh, Atul Shrivastava and Kamar Khan used to trap victim interested in buying properties of BDA.

The accused has confessed that he used to introduce his accomplice Rupesh Sirode as BDA official and would himself pose as his driver in front of the victims. Once the victim was trapped he would tell him that Rupesh has transferred the property in his name and that documentation would be done in his name.

The master mind of the fraud Rupesh runs Sarthak Associates in Zone 2 and owns a shop in Indrapuri from which he deals in property, facilitating loan and garments. He has been booked by Piplani police for vehicle lifting in the year 2012. Atul works with Marketing Life Company while Ravi works for a private firm.


The BDA lodged complaint after victims Vijay Dongre, Jagdish Singh and Narendra Kumar Sharma were duped by the accused to the tune of Rs 20.51 lakh and owner of Verma Travels, Deepak Verma was duped to the tune of Rs 43 lakh. Police said that his other three accomplices Rupesh Sirode (35) of Ayodhya Nagar, Atul Shrivastava (29) of Minal Residency and Ravi Kumar (31) of Lalpura Bhind have already been nabbed.
