Accidental explosion in a house kills two in Lucknow

While a house in Munna Lal Khera village on Jehata road collapsed, two other adjoining residences were damaged in the incident.

LUCKNOW: Two people were killed and several others injured in an explosion in the Kakori area here on Monday morning.

While a house in Munna Lal Khera village on Jehata road collapsed, two other adjoining residences were damaged in the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Deepak Kumar said that the blast occurred at the house of one Sanjay Lodhi, who had rented it out to one Nasir and his son.

The adjoining houses of Gaya Prasad and Ramasrey also suffered damage in the explosion .

He said that rescue operation was underway.

Reports said that while two bodies have been recovered from the debris, search was underway to rescue others.

Preliminary reports said that the bodies of Nasir and his wife have been recovered.

Explosives used for making crackers were stored in the basement of the house which reportedly led to the tragedy.
