If you are a teenager trying to get a learner’s driving licence or an elderly person facing trouble in getting old-age pension, here is an opportunity for you to get your work done without having to run between government offices.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Gurugram chapter of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will hold an ‘Adhikar Mela’ at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 38, Gurugram, on Wednesday. The event will be organised from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Officials from all departments of the district administration, including judiciary, health, municipal corporation, forest, revenue, sports, agriculture and electricity, will be present at the fair to assist citizens in delivery of services.
The services on offer will include caste certificate, learner’s driving licence, widow pension, old-age pension, ration card, education loan, birth and death certificates, concessional bus pass, labour welfare board schemes, Atal Pension Scheme, Forest Department schemes and free medical aid.
‘Creating awareness’
DLSA chairman, and Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Sondhi said the objective of the event was to reach out to citizens and create awareness about various welfare schemes and ensure their hassle-free delivery.
Mr. Sondhi said the common man was not able to avail various welfare schemes of the government due to lack of awareness or red tape.
DLSA secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Singh, who recently convened a meeting regarding the fair, said a ‘Rozgar Mela’ will also be simultaneously organised at the stadium. Over 4,000 jobs for security guards, food delivery executives and associate sales consultants will be up for grabs, he said.

Anyone who wants to participate must carry their Employment Office identity card and requisite documents, including Aadhar card, mark sheets, domicile certificates and passport-size photographs.
