NBA Finals live: LeBron's Cavs attempt to level Warriors in game two

Love issues

It's probably a by-product of the fast pace to this game and JR, George Hill and LeBron attacking from the perimetre but Kevin Love has barely had a touch so far and he has been a massive part of Cleveland's offence during the playoffs.

The Cavs need to get him some post touches or some open jump shots to get him going.

Meanwhile JR has five points and a steal so far. If anyone can bounce back from controversy, it's the great man JR!

TV timeout, Warriors up 21-17 - they will wonder what they aren't further ahead given their hot start.

Nice response

George Hill and LeBron have come out aggressive and JR Smith just scored his first bucket and was fouled in the process. JR has Curry on him, if he can be aggressive and draw some fouls on Curry it could prove a big moment.

Warriors fans chanting "MVP, MVP" as JR shot his free throw and missed. He later nailed a three.

Warriors up 21-17 halfway through the first. Warriors 10 from 11 from the field.

Warriors are flying!

Klay hits a three, Draymond Green gets a fast break dunk and starts pumping up the fans! Time out called, Cleveland's defence is a mess.

Maybe the demons of last game have sapped some of their drive. They better find it fast or the Warriors will take game two away from them. Warriors up 15-6, eight minutes to go in the first quarter.

Meanwhile enjoy JaVale's dunk:

Curry with a cork? James on the board

Steph Curry took a knee to the quad from Kevin Love in the early going, looks ok so far but needs to be watched.

James has the first points for the Cavs and George Hill scored as well but the Cavs have let in five dunks or layups so far. Defence needs to improve pronto.

Warriors up 10-4.

JR gets loud ovation

The Warriors fans keep it 100. They gave JR Smith the biggest cheer of any player during pregame introduction while the Warriors also get the first points as surprise starter JaVale McGee gets a dunk on the first play.

Game on in Oakland!

JR Smith

Before we got too serious about game two, I have to send some love to the great man JR Smith of the Cavs who was the object of far too much anger after game one where he appeared to not know the score and dribbled out the final seconds of the fourth quarter with the scores tied.

So shout out to the real fans who are showing love for JR in his time of need. Personally I'm backing him to have a 15 or more points tonight. He is a gamer.

As for other predictions. I'm calling another close finish, Warriors win by five and there is at least one ejection. Feels like a fierce game to come.

Welcome to Game 2 of the NBA Finals!

G'day everyone and welcome to our Fairfax Media live blog for game two of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers!

It's Roy Ward here and I'll be with you all game today! Follow along and drop me a tweet at @rpjward if you have any comments or reactions.

Big news heading into game time is that Klay Thompson has been passed fit to play after a high ankle injury in game one, Klay had 24 points in game 1 and forces the Cavs to not double team Steph Curry.

He has already made a return to the locker room but whether that was for ankle issues or a pre-game bathroom break who knows?

The Cavaliers have to fight away their mental demons from that horror finish to game 1 - who knows whether Klay's ankle, the Cavs demons or something yet unrevealed will prove the decisive factor in today's game - keep following to find out!

Game time is about 15 minutes away.

He has arrived

Check out those socks, though..

Here we go again...

Game two is upon us, tipping off at 10am AEST.

LeBron's Cavaliers have the chance to level up the series before it moves on home to Cleveland, while the Warriors will be keen to press to a 2-0 lead before they hit the road.

The visitors came so close in the NBA Finals opener, but ultimately fell just short as J.R. Smith's responded to his last-ditch offensive rebound by dribbling out of the key to halfway - much to LeBron James's dismay.
