ProKabaddi League (PKL) franchise Tamil Thalaivas on Monday announced it will conduct the final selection trials, in the u-17, u-19 & u-25 age categories, for the country’s first ever private residential kabaddi academy at the Jeppiaar Engineering College here.
The academy, which the franchise will set up in partnership with the Jeppiaar Educational Trust, will be called Tamil Thalaivas Jeppiaar Kabaddi Academy and have its first batch training in July.
The academy will be home to 80 promising talents from across the country. The athletes will get free training from the Thalaivas coaching staff. Thalaivas head coach K. Baskaran, the technical director of the programme, will oversee the training.
