NEET result 2018: Prince Chaudhary from Rajasthan’s Barmer bags All India Rank 5

Prince Chaudhary, a 17-year-old boy from a small town in Rajasthan’s border district of Barmer got the All India Rank 5 in NEET result 2018, which was announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Monday.

Chaudhary, the son of a medical store owner Ramaram and homemaker Kamla Devi in Dhorimana village of the district, scored 686 out of 720 marks in NEET result 2018.

“I was expecting a better AIR in NEET but a wrong answer to a question reduced my score and rank,” the student of Kota’s Allen Career Institute said.

Chaudhary said he is satisfied with his rank in NEET result 2018 and wants to seek admission in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He is, however, not sure about the branch he would like to pursue.

He said he studied at least six hours a day after his classes in school and coaching centre, which helped him revise his chapters. He said that preparation of notes and revision were also key to his success in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test.

“My teacher always stressed on finishing the daily course every day, which helped me a lot in cracking NEET,” Chaudhary, who likes to read his course and comic books in spare time, said.

A student of Hindi medium student till Class 10, Chaudhary said he owed his success in NEET result 2018 to his family and teachers.

He got 94.17% marks in Class 10 board examination and 93.6% marks in Class 12 exams conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education.

The Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE’s) data shows that over 13.36 lakh registered for NEET 2018, up from 11.5 lakh last year. There are 60,000 seats in medical and dental institutes across the country.
