The report, “Arbaaz admits role in IPL betting: police” (June 3), is what prompts me to write this. In Jalpaiguri, a small district town in the Dooars in north Bengal, betting on the IPL grips almost every tea stall, grocery shop and some academic institutions. It is strange that poverty is no barrier.
