Reports emerged today that Arsenal were set to meet Fellaini this week over a potential move to the Emirates.
The Belgium international is out of contract at Manchester United this summer and has so far rejected offers of an extension.
Sutton does not think Fellaini would fit into the style of football at Arsenal, despite the arrival of new head coach Unai Emery.
But he admits the 30-year-old could be a threat if used in the right way.

“Is that serious?,” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I like Fellaini, but it’s not the Arsenal way, is it?
“He’s not what you’d call a playmaker, where would they play him?

“I don’t know, but I wouldn’t have thought he would play as that holding midfielder-type, someone who sprays it around.
“He didn’t do that particularly well at United.
“But, I’m a big fan of his, and I do think he has a threat.”
