Express commitment towards welfare of the State

The fourth anniversary of the Telanagana Formation Day was marked by hoisting of the national flag in government departments and several institutions here on Saturday.

On the occasion, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy said the trial run for 16-km Ameerpet-LB Nagar stretch of corridor-I would begin soon. The works were going on at a brisk pace on Ameerpet-Hitec City section (10 km) of corridor-III and JBS-MGBS section (10 km) of corridor-II.

He earlier hoisted the tricolour at Metro Rail Bhavan where senior engineers, officers and staff participated in the celebrations.

Hyderabad Collector Yogita Rana hoisted the national flag at the Collectorate and garlanded the portrait of late Jayashankar who guided the Telangana movement. She called upon officers to strive to take Hyderabad to the forefront. She inaugurated the blood donation camp and sweets were distributed in orphanages, old age homes, bus stations, metro stations, government hospitals in the city to mark State Formation Day.

Hyderabad Metro Water Works and Sewage Board Managing Director M. Dana Kishore hoisted the tricolour and extended his greetings to the staff and the consumers. He administered an oath to the officers and employees that sewerage works would be taken up in a mechanised way to the extent possible.

Mr. Dana Kishore announced that sewerage master plan till Outer Ring Road would be taken up in the next one year and works would be taken up with ₹700 crore to supply drinking water daily in the Old City.

Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor V. Praveen Rao hoisted the national flag and paid tribute to Prof. Jayashankar. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was implementing several farmers’ welfare programmes that would become a model for the country.

The State Formation Day was celebrated in a grand manner at Aranya Bhavan, Telangana State Forest Development Corporation, State Pollution Board, TS Institute of Rural Development, State Sheep and Goat Cooperative Development Federation, Telangana Intermediate Board, B.R. Ambedkar Open University, SETWIN and other institutions.

The State Formation Day was celebrated on a grand scale at NTR Bhavan by the Telangna State unit of Telugu Desam and TDPTS President L. Ramana unfurled the national flag and the party members paid tributes to late NTR and observed two minute silence in memory of martyrs.
