Bengali litterateur Indramitra passes away

Noted Bengali litterateur Guha, who is also known by his pseudonym Indramitra, passed away at a city home today, family sources said.

has been unwell for the past three years and was taken to the home this morning after his condition deteriorated. He died there in the afternoon.

He used to write poems in his own name and publish his research based works in his pseudonym.

The was recipient of Rabindra Purashkar, instituted by the West Bengal Government, twice for his books 'Karunasagar Vidyasagar', a research based work, and 'Dekha Sakkhat', a collection of poems.

He was also the recipient of Narasimha Das Purashkar, instituted by the Delhi University, for 'Saajghar', another research based work.

was born in 1929 at Barisal in undivided Bengal and was educated at the in Barisal and Asutosh College here.

His first book of poems 'Dakkhin Nayak' and the last one, 'Prasthan Samay Upasthit' was published in 2014.
