Robert L. Fife, 85, of Venice, Florida, passed away May 25, 2018. Born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Rachel E. Miller and Samuel R. Fife. In addition to his beloved parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Newton, his daughter Robyn Lynne, and just recently, his son Eric Robert. His sister Sally Lou Fife, his brother Samuel R. Fife, Jr., and nephew Samuel R. Fife III, also preceded him in death. Remaining to mourn him are his sister Rae Nancy, and brother-in-law Richard Zuberbuhler; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Fife; his son-in-law Andrew Mackintosh; six nieces and nephews; and ten grandnieces and grandnephews. He will be greatly missed by his friends at Jacaranda Trace in Venice, especially Nancy and Miles Cooper. Bob graduated from Beaver High School in 1951 and from Pennsylvania State University in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army in 1956-57, CIC Military Intelligence in France. He then graduated in 1959 from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona. His marketing management career spanned 40 years in the metalworking industry until he retired. He spent several years living in Pittsburgh's historic Chatham Village before moving to Florida. Bob was a gregarious guy with many interests. He was a connoisseur of classical jazz all of his life, an avid reader, a world traveler, and a wonderful storyteller. He took an active interest in politics and conservation, and was a zealous sports fan who always rooted for Pittsburgh's Steelers and Penguins. He was also a loyal supporter of Penn State and their Nittany Lions and attended many alumni functions. His family will hold a celebration of his life this summer.
