In Cricket, India defeated Malaysia by 142 runs in their opening match of Women's Twenty-20 Asia Cup at Kuala Lumpur today. Opting to bat, India posted 169 for 3, riding on opener Mithali Raj's unbeaten 97 off just 69 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur made 32.
In reply, Malaysia were bundled out for just 27 in 13.4 overs. Six of the Malaysian players were out for a duck. Pooja Vastrakar bagged the maximum of 3 wickets. Mithali was adjudged player of the match.
India, the six-time champions, will play Thailand tomorrow, before facing Bangladesh on Wednesday. The Indian eves will play Pakistan on Saturday.
The top-two teams at the end of the round-robin stage will play in the Final which will be played on Sunday.
