Govt introduces farmers welfare scheme emphasising income instead of focussing production: Radha Mohan Singh |
Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh said agriculture production has risen during the NDA regime. Mr Singh said, BJP led government has also given push to policy reforms in the sector.
The average foodgrain production has increased to 280 million tonnes in 2017-18 from the average production of 255 million tonnes during 2010-2014.
Mr Singh said, the central government has come out with farmers' welfare schemes, which lay emphasis on increasing their income, instead of focusing only on production.
