Drinking Water & Sanitation Secy Parameswaran Iyer says groundwater depletion is major challenge for India |
Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Parameswaran Iyer today said, the groundwater depletion is a major challenge for India and there is a need to make more efforts to tackle the problem.
Addressing a function in New Delhi on the upcoming World Environment Day, Mr Iyer emphasised the need on recharging the groundwater saying corporates have a big role to play in this direction.
He also spoke about sanitation saying that after Open Defecation Free initiatives, the government is focusing on Open Defecation Free Sustainability and the corporate sector can do more in this area.
