Prime Minister's National Relief Fund(PMNRF) and National Defence Fund(NDF)

All donations towards the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund(PMNRF) and the National Defence Fund(NDF) are notified for 100% deduction from taxable income under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act,1961

Top officials of both public and private banks will brief the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance tomorrow in New Delhi on the issue of mounting Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and bank frauds.

The meeting is being called after the RBI governor Urjit Patel had said the Central Bank did not have adequate powers to deal with public sector banks.

The panel has also called Mr Patel to brief on the same issue later this month. According to official data, gross NPAs of state-owned banks had crossed 7.77 lakh crore rupees at the end of last year.
