COLOMBO (News 1^st) – A police officer has died following an accident that took place in the Sapugoda Area along the Galle-Colombo main road.

According to the Police, the accident was a result of a collision between a tipper truck and a motorbike, in which the Police officer was traveling in.

The Police Officer who sustained injuries was then admitted to the Nagoda Hospital, upon which he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased Police officer is a 29-year-old resident of the Benthara area and served as a Police Constable attached to the Kaluthara North Police Division. The driver of the tipper truck has been arrested.
