News-Herald Wing Eating Contest June 4 at Hooley House in Mentor

The annual News-Herald Wing Eating Contest will be held June 4 at Hooley House of Mentor as part of the Varsity Chalk Talk show.

The promo show officially kicks off the preparation for the annual News-Herald Senior Bowl, presented by Hooley House. The game is Friday, June 15 at Mayfield High School, with practices running from June 10-14 at Wildcat Park leading up to the game.

There will be 12 two-man teams consisting of players from News-Herald area schools will vie for wing-eating supremacy. The Varsity Chalk Talk show that night runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Players and coaches for this year’s Senior Bowl will be featured on stage with interviews prior to the wing-eating contest.

Aside from the wing-eating contest, other key points about the June 4 show at Hooley House are:

• Players are asked to attend so they can try on a jersey. Each player will keep their jersey following the game, so proper size is important.

• Players who haven’t already done so are encouraged to turn in their physical forms, parental consent form and player profile sheet that night.
