BENGALURU: The city is likely to receive moderate to heavy rain till June 9, according to the
Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. On Saturday, Bengaluru recorded 19mm of rain and witnessed waterlogging in many areas.
Normal life was thrown out of gear as major thoroughfares like Sarjapur Road, Hosur Road, Mysuru Road and
Ballari Road saw bumper-to-bumper traffic.
“Rain is expected every day after 2pm from June 3 to June 9,” said
G Srinivas Reddy, director of the centre. In the state, 26 districts are witnessing rain.
Bescom received complaints of 43 electric poles and 37 tree branches having fallen, affecting power supply. BBMP’s monsoon Prahari team attended to 20 complaints of tree falls in Girinagar, Hebbal, Kamanahalli and Padmanabhanagar.
