Samantha Bee will address the elephant in the room on the next episode of Full Frontal.
The comedienne found herself in hot water last week after Donald Trump compared her profane commentary on First Daughter-slash-White House official Ivanka Trump to the type of tweet that Roseanne Barr issued against a former Obama Administration official, which caused ABC to cancel its Roseanne revival.
The POTUS complained of a "double standard," since TBS has not indicated an intention to fire Bee for calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c--t" on her show. Bee's words came in a segment in which she demanded that Ivanka Trump act on her apparent love of children -- as displayed by an ill-timed image of herself with her own child, which was posted amidst outrage over the Trump Administration's controversial immigration policy of separating parents from their children, hundreds of which have been misplaced by the government.
I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.
— Samantha Bee (@iamsambee) May 31, 2018Bee, and TBS, quickly apologized for the choice of language used on the show, but many supporters of the talk show host were quick to point out the glaring difference between what she said and what was said by Barr -- chiefly, that her comparison of Valerie Jarrett to a primate on Twitter was racist.
However, Bee will reportedly address the controversy on the next episode of the show, airing Wednesday evening, according to CNN.
There are no details as to what she will say about the backlash she received for her words, but CNN's source indicates Bee and her writing team have been formulating a response since last week.
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee airs Wednesdays at 10:30/9:30c on TBS.
