Cyclist dies after being hit by car near Lake George

A cyclist, believed to be in her 60s, has died after she was hit by a car near Lake George.

Emergency services were called to Tarago Road, about 34 kilometres from Canberra about 10am on Sunday to reports a cyclist was hit by a car. A medical helicopter also responded.

The woman died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and will be forensically examined.

Police say the male driver of the car was not physically injured will be taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
