Noida: Starting Sunday,
woman cops in plain clothes will
patrol the parks in residential sectors from 6pm to 8pm. This was announced by Noida SP (city) AK Singh in a meeting held with the RWA federation in the latter’s office in Sector 52 on Saturday.
“We raised all security concerns on residential sectors where increased crimes of mobile/chain snatching, eve-teasing, thefts etc have been on the rise,” said NP Singh, president ofFederation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA).
The SP (city) addressed the issues by allowing CCTV cameras to be put up at sector entry-exit gates, and assured tenant/vendor/service providers’ verification drive.
“We will have woman police personnel patrolling in residential sector parks to check on any anti social elements and eve-teasers. Also, there will be increased patrolling in all residential sectors, along with routine checks of area SHOs with sector RWAs,” said the SP (city).
Singh further recommended security measures such as intimating neighbours or sector RWAs if a resident plans to leave the city for a short period. He also asked neighbours to collect newspapers from the doorsteps of owners who are out of town to ensure security check of the area.
“This would help keep a check in vacant homes and act as a deterrent for prospective thieves,” said the police officer. Other measures discussed include regular check on senior citizens, he suggested.
