LAMJUNG: District Court, Lamjung, on Sunday has handed a 10-year prison sentence to a man held with 17-kg-gold from Marshyangdhi Rural Municipality in the district on November 2, 2017.
A single bench of District Judge, Komal Prasad Acharya passed the order to imprison 31-year-old Pasang Lama of Naso Rural Municipality-9, Manang for 10 years six months under Prevention of Organised Crime Act, 2070.
Lama, in his statement, had admitted being a gold carrier while spilling out names of others involved in gold smuggling, however, police have not been able to trace the whereabouts of those involved yet.
