Vadodara: Driver of an insurance advisor was stabbed by an unidentified person when he was taking nap in the car near Masonic Hall on BPC Road on Friday.
Suresh Parmar, who works as driver for an insurance advisor P P Bhaskaran, was taking nap in Bhaskaran’s car after having lunch.
Parmar was waiting after dropping Bhaskaran at a nearby office. An unidentified man, aged around 20 years, came near him and stabbed Parmar on the right side of his neck. As Parmar woke up, the accused fled from there.
Parmar told police that he too tried to catch the assailant accused but he fled towards Chakli Circle on Jetalpur Road. As Parmar was bleeding profusely he could not go further and informed Bhaskaran about the incident. Parmar was taken to a nearby private hospital and after primary treatment, he was referred to another hospital on Race Course Road where he is undergoing treatment.
In his statement, Parmar told police that he did not know the attacker, but could recognize him. “The victim did not know the attacker and it is unlikely that the car’s owner had enmity with anyone that could have led to attack on Parmar. The incident is very strange but we are trying to find the accused,” said a police official.
Police also checked footages of CCTV cameras of some nearby shops but those were at some distance. Cops said that the accused is seen running in the footages, but his face is not clear.
