You know what’s worse than not being able to
grow a beard? Growing a patchy
beard. Here’s how you can salvage your facial
hair situation...
1. Keep It short: If a patchy beard is your problem, rethink the beard. Maintain an unkempt stubble instead. It’s easier to maintain and you don’t have to worry about the barren crates forming amid the scanty growth of facial hair.
2. Grow it out: To conceal the patchiness. How? Just let the long hair cover the barren areas of your face. Stay away from the razor and the shaving cream for a while. But you’ll have to go through an awkward period having barren patches on your face.
3. Keep it brushed: It’s a basic principle. When you use a brush on hair, it becomes more voluminous, fluffed up and therefore, appears to be fuller. Apply the same principle to your
facial hair as well. And as the hair on your face opens out, fluffs up and fills out your entire face, the patchiness will be concealed.
4. Even it out: If you have patches that still do consist of facial hair and aren’t all that barren, you could also choose to even out your facial hair by trimming it. Trim it down to the same length for a refined stubble.
5. Amp up the contrast: The growth of facial hair is always significantly more around your sideburns and neckline. Many a time, men tend to overlook these areas. Start drawing some attention to these areas as well. Use a clipper to trim the length at the sideburns and make a pattern. At the neckline, use a razor cleverly to shape and contain the
hair growth. This adds an edge to your beard and takes away greatly from the patchiness.
