Rajkot: A badly mutilated body of a woman, believed to be around 30-year-old, was found near Bhuj on Saturday.

The body was first taken to G K General Hospital in Bhuj, where doctors confirmed that she might have been killed on Thursday night or Friday early morning. The body got decomposed due to severe heat and humidity. There is also no missing persons’ report about any woman filed in the past few days.
Police inspector M J Jalu of A-division police station, Bhuj, told TOI: “We found some blood-stained stones near the body. We strongly suspect that she was stoned to death. There were multiple fractures in the skull, but no sharp weapon was used in the crime. There were no injury marks on other parts of the body.” The stones were also sent for forensic examination.
Police have also circulated messages in the social media with description of the body so that some known person can approach them with more details about her.
For now, a case of accidental death has been lodged, but the FIR will be modified depending on the postmortem report. Police are also interrogating some local people and checking the available CCTV footage to trace people with suspicious movements in the last couple of days.
