A police constable allegedly committedsuicide in Rajnandgaon district.
Constable Sandip Singh Thakur (43) allegedly shot himself with his service rifle inside his residential quarters on the premises of Gaindatola police station last evening, a local official said.
When Thakur's colleagues heard the gunshot, they rushed to his house and found him lying in a pool of blood, said a local police official.
He was declared brought dead at the hospital.
Thakur hailed from Utai in neighbouring Durg district.
The reason for the alleged suicide was yet to be ascertained, the police official said.
