CoE on cyber security soon

The State will soon have a centre of excellence (CoE) on cyber security aimed at accelerating the momentum on cyber security and positioning Telangana as one of the leading cyber security hubs in the country over the next five years.

The State govt. had announced its partnership with Data Security Council of India (DSCI), a Nasscom initiative, for setting up the CoE. The centre, proposed as a public-private partnership model, is aimed at accelerating and strengthening the ecosystem by focussing on strategic areas including innovation, entrepreneurship and capacity building. The initiative would help establish technical infrastructure to enable innovation, product development and testing and build the capacity to meet skills and talent requirements.

IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan said building the CoE as a collaborative hub would stimulate its position as a preferred destination for cyber security and develop the required talent and capability.

DSCI CEO Rama Vedashree said the programmes rolled out by the CoE would significantly contribute to the State’s cyber security policy in protecting critical information infrastructure and security awareness.

Nasscom president Debjani Ghosh said the country’s IT-BPM industry was in the next growth phase with digital and cyber security being key levers.
