Naidu calls people to recollect injustice meted to the State

Nava Nirmana Deeksha to take off today

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the people recollect the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh in the last four years and rededicate themselves for the development of State at the Nava Nirmana Deeksha, which begins on June 2.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Friday, Mr. Naidu said that every family and every citizen in the State had to take part in the deeksha. The government had appointed nodal officers for each Assembly constituency (175), 661 mandals, 12,920 gram panchayats, 121 ULBs, 3,820 wards. An App was developed to upload information on a day-to-day basis. As many as 10 lakh calls would go to people through IVRS for feedback on the deeksha, he said.

Mr. Naidu said the State would not have achieved the development but for commitment and dedication of people and employees. The State achieved tremendous progress during last four years despite non-cooperation from the Central government, he said.

The administration and development were put on right track within no time. Else, Andhra Pradesh would have turned another Bihar. The per capita income of Bihar was nominal. Andhra Pradesh on other hand surpassed many other States in many sectors and the growth rate was high, he said.

Mr. Naidu claimed that there were no scams in the State during last four years and corruption was controlled. All the cases relating to red sanders, AgriGold were legacy of the past governments. Notwithstanding, the State government was taking corrective steps, he said.

Government Adviser (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar was present. The government will dedicate its achievements during the last four years to the people during the week-long deeksha which will be kick-started at Benz Circle here on June 2.

Mr. Naidu will address the gathering and present last year’s progress report. Discussions and public awareness meetings will be organised from June 3 to 8.

Mr. Naidu will visit a district each day and take part in a meeting organised there. ‘Maha Sankalpam’ on June 8 will mark the end of the deeksha. Mr. Naidu will announce the government’s plans and goals for the future and administer an oath to the public.
