MARION - The Beal City baseball team claimed a Division 4 district title at Marion Saturday as it won a pair of 7-0 shutouts over Coleman and Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart.
The Aggies (18-8) opened the day with a 7-0 win over Coleman to advance to the title game.
Ryan Schafer got the win as he allowed no runs on one hit while striking out eight in seven innings of work.
Keegan Haynes and Nate Wilson both went 2-for-4 in the win while Kollin Sharrar, Haynes, Cameron Lynch and Aaron Schafer all had RBIs. Beal City 1-0 into the sixth at which point they blew the game open with a six-spot.
In the district finale the Aggies topped the Irish 7-0.
Brett Upton got the win as he allowed no runs on three hits while striking out 10 and walking two in six frames. Haynes closed it in the seventh.
Lynch and Colby Berryhill both had two hits to pace the offense.
The Aggies play Pentwater next Saturday in regional action in Frankfort.
