FREMONT - The Chippewa Hills softball team won its second-straight Division 2 district in as many years Saturday in Fremont,

The Warriors (15-16) topped Whitehall 5-3 in the opener before claiming the title via an eight-inning 11-9 win over the hosts.

Sydney Wright broke the tie in the eighth frame of the nightcap with a single. She went 2-for-4 in the win and scored two runs.

Morgan Perkins also scored two runs and went 4-for-4 while driving in a key eighth-inning run. Mercedez Sorsen went 3-for-4 with three runs scored while Izzy Gutierrez chipped in two key hits as well in the finale.

Mya Koepf got the win in the circle.

In the opener Teagan Dangler got the win as she allowed two runs on six hits while walking one and striking out two.

Wright went 3-for-3 with an RBI while Kurstyn Fate added in three hits. Sorsen alsh drove in two.

The Warriors return to action next Satuday at the Gaylord regional where they will face Kalkaska at noon.
