Prison for football yob dad
AN EVERTON fan who punched opposition footballers while holding his toddler son who was sucking a dummy was jailed yesterday. Snarling Michael Fitzpatrick used his other hand to grapple or punch during a Europa League tie between Everton and Lyon.
Footage of the incident last October went viral as Fitzpatrick was seen carrying the three-year-old boy at Goodison Park.
The 30-year-old, from Prescot, Merseyside, later said he felt “ashamed” and feared his ex will ban his access to their children.
Fitzpatrick was jailed for eight weeks.
He pleaded guilty to assault at an earlier hearing at the Community Justice Centre in Bootle.

He was also given a six-year football banning order.
Everton FC has banned Fitzpatrick for life from the ground.
Police Supt Dave Charnock said: “The majority of fans went to the game to enjoy a football match between two passionate clubs.
