Lifetree Café: Daytona Beach

Coping with the challenges of living with autism will be explored at Lifetree Café at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, June 3, at 142 Fairview Ave., Daytona Beach. The program, titled “Living with Autism: A Peek into a Hidden World,” features a screening of the award-winning short film “Guang.” This is free, refreshments are served and childcare is available. Unity of Daytona Beach event

Kirsten Buxton and Ricki Comeaux, elders with David Hoffmeister’s Living Miricles in Chapala, Mexico, will present “Living a Life of Trust” from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Unity of Daytona Beach, 908 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill. Lifetree Café: DeLand

Lifetree Café is an hour-long experience with interesting stories in a comfortable and safe place where participants have the opportunity to share thoughts about compelling topics and hear the thoughts of others.

DeLand’s Lifestree Café is held each week at a few different locations and days. The topic for the week of June 4 is “Living with Autism- A Peek into a Hidden World” at the following days and locations

Heart 4 Souls Spiritual Service

There will be a hands on healing service led by Rev. Judi Weaver along with deep guided meditation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Unitarian Universal Church, 56 N. Halifax Ave., Ormond Beach. There will be trained healers there to channel energies for the Divine to heal the body, mind and spirit. A love donation will be accepted. Men Cry in the Dark

UCCNSB plans special recognition of gun violence victims

The United Church of Christ of New Smyrna Beach will have a special recognition for victims of gun violence 10 a.m. Sunday, June 10, during its regular worship service in the sanctuary at 203 Washington St.

UCCNSB also will participate in the 49 Bells: Love in Unison ceremony in remembrance of the 49 killed in the Orlando Pulse night club shooting in 2016. Mothers of the victims, who formed One Orlando Alliance, are calling upon churches, temples, synagogues and mosques to join them again by tolling their bells at noon Tuesday, June 12. The Rev. Dr. Diane Langworthy, pastor at UCCNSB, will officiate. There will be light refreshments in Community Hall following the ceremony.

New Board Members

Members of the New Smyrna Community Unitarian Universalist Church elected new officers on May 20. New board members are co-presidents Connie Baker and Kathi Smith, vice president Debbi Zill, treasurer Rosa Lake, secretary Dana Jacobson, past president David Herr and trustees Audrey Barcelo, Bud Cullison, Vistor Brisebois and Anna Grainger.
