DeKALB – A crash Saturday morning at the intersection of Annie Glidden North and West Hillcrest Drive sent a mother and her two young children to the hospital, according to DeKalb police officer Chris Sullivan.

Sullivan said a blue Chevy was northbound at 10:22 a.m. on Annie Glidden Road when a red sedan turned left toward Hillcrest, while both vehicles had a green light. He said citations are pending, but for now the driver of the red sedan and her children were taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital. He said their injuries appear to not be life-threatening.

The woman who was driving the Chevy wasn't hurt and was the only occupant of the vehicle, Sullivan said. The intersection was nearly cleared for traffic in all directions by 11 a.m., thanks to a Tri-State employee sweeping away debris as DeKalb police directed traffic around the cars.
