Bunnell police are investigating the shooting death of 56-year-old man that occurred in a home Friday night, officials said.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office, which is assisting Bunnell police, said Friday around 9:55 p.m. that the shooting occurred at 705 North Bacher St.

On Saturday, Bunnell police Chief Tom Foster said the investigation was ongoing but preliminary information indicated the 56-year-old victim was shot to death.

"It's a homicide investigation," Foster said. "The deceased died from an apparent gunshot."

Foster said investigators were called to the home where they found the dead man. The identity of the deceased is not being released pending the notification of his family, Foster said.

The man shot to death was one of two residents at the home. The other resident was interviewed by police, Foster said.

"There is one person in custody," Foster said. "There is no threat to the community."
