Officials all over the State vow to strive for development

Minister for Industries N. Amarnatha Reddy on Saturday initiated the week-long Navanirmana Deeksha schedule at Phule statue junction here.

The Minister spoke about the ‘injustice’ done to the State during bifurcation, and betrayal of the BJP-led NDA government with the denial of Special Category Status and funds for various projects in the State.

Collector PS Pradyumna, SP Rajasekhar Babu, MLCs Dorababu, MLA D.A. Satyaprabha, senior cadres of the TDP and officials of various departments were present.

In Tirupati, SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao on Saturday blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for tarnishing the image of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telugu Desam Party (TDP), to cover up their failures, especially the promises made to Andhra Pradesh, during State bifurcation.

Speaking to the media after taking part in the ongoing Nava Nirmaana Deeksha at Chandragiri mandal, Mr. Rao alleged that both BJP and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) were planning to unfairly oust TDP in the 2019 elections, for their political gains. He said that people of Andhra Pradesh had to work hard and support the government in building a new State from the scratch.

In Kurnool, Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy said that Andhra Pradesh which was unilaterally bifurcated and subjected to grave losses is holding Nava Nirmana Deeksha with the people’s support while Telangana was celebrating the State Formation Day.

He said that the time had come for striving to overcome the losses and for competing with Telangana in terms of development.

Maha Sankalpam

In Vijayawada, A.P-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar administered a pledge to the officers and staff, to strive for development of the State. Special commissioner V. Rama Manohara Rao, additional commissioner S. Shan Mohan and others were present.

Also, District Collector B. Lakshmikantham said a sum of ₹1.50 lakh has been released for every mandal for organising the event and ₹1.50 lakh each for 12 municipalities and ₹3 lakh for Vijayawada municipal corporation for the same.

Speaking during a teleconference with municipal commissioners and MPDOs, Mr. Lakshmikantham said the programme was intended to motivate the people to contribute their mite for development of the State and it would conclude with a Maha Sankalpam on June 8.
