Ujjain: Masked men rob Rs. 7 lakh in broad daylight


Ujjain: Masked men looted a bag containing Rs 7 lakh from a man in State Bank of India’s Budhavariya branch on Friday in broad daylight. The branch falls under Central Kotwali police station area. According to details available, the robbers targeted Fazil Ahmed, a resident of Milkypura, an employee of a service provider firm, who had come to the bank to deposit cash belonging to the firm.

The victim chased them up to a certain distance but unfortunately, his two-wheeler skid near Mohan Nagar and he had to give up his chase. According to the victim Ahmed, two masked persons had followed him on a bike without a number plate, when he set out to deposit the amount. He said that the amount belonged to firm Messer Amir Ali, which provides services for paying electricity bills.

A report of the incident was lodged with the Kotwali police station. The police have registered an FIR against unknown people under Section 392 of the IPC. According to the police, the message conveyed on every check post and CCTV footages are also being scrutinized thoroughly. Speaking to Free Press the police said no clues had been received about the thieves so far, but were confident that they would be arrested soon.
