Classics made by Vijaya Films have an endearing quality with a good combination of music, literary values and healthy entertainment, noted industrialist Koduru Vara Prasada Reddy has said.

Addressing a meeting after releasing ‘Jai Patalabhairavi’ on the classic film, written by Rambhatla Nrusimha Sarma here on Friday, he lauded the contribution of writer Pingali Nagendra Rao, who coined new words and all the starting lines of songs (pallavis) later became names of films.

The films generally promoted personality development and entrepreneurship.

Litterateur D.V. Surya Rao who reviewed the book said Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani made their films a part of Telugu culture.

Visakha Sahiti president Kolavennu Malayavasini lauded the contribution of Dr. Vara Prasada Reddy in promoting literature through Santa-Vasanta Trust. Sahitya Surabhi President Vruddhula Kalyana Rama Rao said Mr. Nrusimha Sarma excelled in writing on films.

Mr. Nrusimha Sarma said the release of the book also marked the centenary of another great actor S.V. Ranga Rao.
