A youth who died after being hit by a CRPF vehicle was buried in the same area in the morning.

Five persons, including three CRPF jawans and two civilians, were injured in a grenade attack on a CRPF installation in Srinagar on Saturday afternoon.

Initial reports suggest militants lobbed a grenade at the structure housing CRPF's 82 Battalion at Fateh Kadal, the same area where the youth who died after being hit by a CRPF vehicle was buried in the morning. The area remained tense all day.

A police official said all the injured suffered splinter wounds. One woman was also among the injured. "Three paramilitary men who sustained splinter injuries were shifted to a hospital," said an official.

The paramilitary force were on Saturday deployed in strength to maintain the law and order in the area.
