A 35-year-old head constable working at Vyalikaval police station died after his bike was hit by a private bus on Hebbal flyover, on Saturday evening. The accident took place around 7.15 p.m.
Police has identified the deceased as Dayananda.
Police sources said that Dayananda was heading towards the station when a bus allegedly hit his bike from behind.
Dayananda sustained head injuries. Passers-by alerted the police who rushed to the spot and shifted him to a nearby hospital, but could not save him.
The Hebbal traffic police have registered a case and are on the lookout of the driver of the bus.
