During the month of June, the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) recognizes “Cancer Immunotherapy Month™” to highlight the advances and successes of immunotherapy to treat cancer patients.
The awareness month was started by the Cancer Research Institute in 2013, with a goal to raise awareness for cancer immunotherapy each June. SITC, a leading organization dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy, honors the day to raise awareness of the innovative immunotherapy options available to treat cancer.
Throughout the month of June, SITC will highlight 30 ways the organization is shaping the future of cancer immunotherapy on the society’s social media platforms.
“As a professional society, it is SITC’s mission to improve cancer patient outcomes by advancing the development and application of cancer immunology and immunotherapy,” said SITC President Lisa H. Butterfield, PhD. “Through recognizing Cancer Immunotherapy Month™, SITC will raise awareness of immunotherapy for cancer and continue to move towards making ‘cure’ a reality for cancer patients everywhere.”
SITC also provides a variety of informative, free online resources to educate patients, clinicians, and researchers about cancer immunotherapy, including:
