TU leader hails NALCO’s plan

Visakha Steel Employees Union general secretary Padi Trinandha Rao has welcomed the investment proposal made by National Aluminium Company (NALCO) on a Greenfield alumina refinery, smelter plant and captive power plant in Visakhapatnam.

Stating that the facility if materialised would develop the region further by providing jobs to many, Mr. Rao, leader of recognised union of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited said NALCO being a public sector under the Ministry of Mining could undertake mining of bauxite ore without causing any damage to the environment going by its thrust on sustainable mining in Odisha.

He appealed to State and Central Governments to accord required permissions for granting of mining leases in the agency belt. He also praised the bold decision taken by NALCO CMD T.K. Chand on the plan for investment in AP.
