While addressing an impressive public meeting at Salooni in Chamba district today, Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has announced 30 new schemes in the budget presented for the year 2018-19. He said that three new schemes were launched recently for welfare of the people of the State on 26th May this year on the completion of four years’ tenure of the Union Government. He said that Jan Manch scheme was initiated for redressal of public grievances at the door steps of the people. He said that people could online register their grievances. He said that Himachal Pradesh ‘Grihini Suvidha Yojana’ has been launched for providing gas connections to the women of the State, to ensure that not even a single family was deprived of gas connection in the State. Similarly, ‘Mukhya Mantri Swavlamban Yojana’ has been started for motivating the youth to start self employment ventures.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that during the five months tenure of the State Government, several welfare schemes have been initiated for development of every area of the State and every section of the society. He said that the opposition leaders were asking for the achievements of the State Government. Would the Opposition leaders give the ‘hisab’ of their achievements and works while being at helm of affairs at the Centre for over 50 years after independence? he asked. He said that it was unfortunate that these leaders were not able to digest the achievements of the State Government. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided a strong leadership to the country and today India is poised to become the most powerful nation of the world.
He announced up-gradation of Community Health Centre Salooni to 50 bedded Hospital for providing better health care facilities to the people of the area. He said that Saleen-Kalor forest road would be transferred to State Public Works Department so that it could be further improved and maintained.
He also announced up-gradation of High School Chalanu to Senior Secondary School and opening of Primary School at Falla. He announced opening of Fire Post at Salooni and Rs 3 lakh for construction of dressing room at the stadium at Salooni. He also announced Rs 5 lakh for Lachori stadium. He said that the water supply scheme for 20 panchayats of Dalhousie area would be taken up for funding with BRICS.
Shri Jai Ram Thakur while expressing grief over the unfortunate incident of sad demise of Shri Ashok Kumar, Deputy Ranger of the area who died while fighting forest fire in the area. He announced Rs 4 lakh for the kin of the Deputy Ranger and free medical treatment for three injured persons.
Earlier, he laid foundation stone of go-down of HP State Civil Supplies Corporation at Sultanpur to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore with a capacity of 1100 MT.
He also laid foundation stone of 40 meter Span Double Lane Bridge over Rollah Nallah on Bathri Sundla Langera Jammu and Kashmir Boundary Road under CRF at Rollah Nallan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.85 crore and of 25 meter Span Double Lane Bridge over Gharat Nallah on Bathri Sundla Langera J&K Boundary Road under CRF at Gharat Nallan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.10 crore.
As a mark of respect the Chief Minister was weighed with coins by Byopar Mandal Lachori on the occasion.
Later he laid foundation stone of 30 meter Span Double Lane Bridge over Salandri Nallah on Bathri Sundla Langera J&K Boundary Road under CRF at Salandri Nallan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.11 crore.
He also inaugurated 33/11KV unmanned Sub Station at Brangal constructed at a cost of Rs 2.64 crore. He said that this would ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply to Bhalei, Wangal, Bhunar, Manjhali, Salwan and Naddal area and benefit over 25,000 population of 25 villages of 16 panchayats in Chamba district.
He announced Rs. 21,000 for school children who performed cultural programme.
Senior BJP leader and MP Shri Shanta Kumar said that most of the welfare schemes initiated for welfare of the people were started during the tenure of the successive BJP Governments at the Centre. He said that welfare of the poor and downtrodden was the main thrust area of the BJP Government headed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that the Central Government has been liberal towards the developmental demands of the State. He said that 50 crore people of the country would be benefitted by the health insurance scheme started by the Union Government. He said that a Passport Office would be opened soon in Chamba district to facilitate the people. He announced Rs 5 lakh for the stadium at Salooni.
District BJP President D.S Thakur while welcoming the Chief Minister detailed various demands of the area. He said that the area has remained neglected for the last five years in matter of development. He urged the Chief Minister for setting up Cement plant at Sikridhar area, which would go a long way in economic uplift of the area besides providing employment to the people of the area.
