Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold high level bilateral talks with Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong on issues of mutual interest today.
A gamut of strategic, economic and technological issues is likely to figure during their talks.
Both leaders are expected to review the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement during their bilateral talks. India and Singapore will also sign and exchange agreements and MoUs in areas of higher education, capacity building, defence, urban infrastructure, people to people contacts followed by a joint statement.
Mr. Modi who reached Singapore yesterday on the third and last leg of three nation tour will also take part in a series of events today.
He will call on Singapore President Halimah Yakub and visit Nanyang Technical University to interact with the Students. Later, in the day Mr Modi, will deliver key-note address in the 18th Shangri La dialogue, a global platform that discusses security related issues in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr Modi is the first Indian leader to deliver a key note address at this international forum. More from our correspondent:
Yesterday, Mr. Modi launched international RuPay, Bhim app and Uniform Payment Interface enabling digital transactions benefiting Indian diaspora in Singapore.
This initiative facilitates integration of digital payment systems of the two countries. With the launch of these digital services, Indian holders of RuPay cards will be able to make financial transactions in Singapore. Similarly, residents of Singapore could use the local debit and credit cards to make purchases in India.
