Akhilesh starts vacating govt bungalow

After seeking two years to vacate his government bungalow in Lucknow, former UP Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav started shifting from his 4, Vikramaditya Margbungalow from Wednesday night.

There are reports that Mulayam Singh Yadav was also contemplating vacating the bungalow allotted to him as former CM. His bungalow is adjacent to his son Akhilesh’ house.

Leaders close to Akhilesh claimed here that and that Akhilesh was moving to a palatial bungalow in Sahara Sahar and the shifting would be completed by Thursday night.

The deadline to vacate the two properties will expire on June 1.

Sources said the call to vacate the bungalow was taken in the wake of 15-day notice that the Estate department had served on Akhilesh and Mulayam on May 17, as per a Supreme Court order.

However, the move of Akhilesh is surprising as they (Mulayam and Akhilesh) had moved a petition in Supreme Court, seeking time to vacate their government bungalows.

Union Home minister Rajnath Singh and Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh have already vacated their bungalows.

BSP president Mayawati claimed that she has already vacated 6, Shastri Marg Bungalow, which was allotted to her as former CM, but the Estate department maintained that 13-A Mall Avenue, which the BSP claims as Kanshiram Yaadgar Vishmaralaya, was the bungalow allotted to Mayawati.
