Muted demand drags down aluminium futures by 0.16 pc

prices declined 0.16 per cent to Rs 155.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their exposure, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in July month declined by 25 paise, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 155.90 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.

On similar lines, the for delivery in June contracts shed 20 paise, 0.13 per cent to Rs 155.65 per kg in 174 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market weighed on prices at futures trade.
