PM addresses Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Halifax
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is addressing the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Halifax on Friday morning.
He told the crowd he was confident Canada could reduce chronic homelessness by half over the next decade, and discussed his government’s recent work.

However, he did not mention the United States’ decision that Canada will no longer be exempt from its steel and aluminum tariffs. The move prompted Canada to impose a range of retaliatory tariffs that will remain so long as the U.S. upholds its decision.
Meanwhile, Canada’s big city mayors met at the conference on Thursday and unveiled a wish list topped with funding for affordable housing, climate change and new revenue tools.
Trudeau was speaking to party faithful on Thursday night at a Liberal Party fundraiser Wolfville, N.S. winery.
