3 held after shootout in Ghaziabad, abducted HCL engineer rescued

An kidnapped for ransom nearly 10 days ago was rescued after his three abductors were arrested following a shootout with a joint team of and STF early on Friday, during which two constables and two kidnappers were injured.

Four vehicles, a countrymade pistol, a .32 mm pistol along with cartridges, cards and Rs 40,000 were seized from the criminals.

of Police told the media that was abducted on May 23 night from a bus stand in Raj Nagar Extension.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lakh for his release.

The SSP said that police cornered the criminals near in Raj Nagar Extension early on Friday, but they fired at the police team and injured Constables Manish of Special Task Force and Arun of station.

In the ensuing gunfight, two abductors Mahesh and Sharad sustained bullet injuries. After the three criminals were arrested, on their disclosure, police raided their hideout in Prahladgarhi village and rescued the abductee.

The injured policemen and criminals were admitted in Kailash hospital, where they were in stable condition.
