Delores Audine Calvert

Born December 17, 1934 in El Dorado, Kansas, to Owen S. Hill and Francis V. (Rennaker) Hill and died on May 16, 2018. She was 83 years old. She was the second of eight children; Verne, Delores, Joanne Jackson, Phyllis Beasley, Joseph, Robert, Owen, Jr. (Butch), and Richard. She went to school in El Dorado and graduated Cum Laude in 1952. She married Ernie Lee Calvert on August 29, 1952, at the St. John’s Catholic Church in El Dorado. After Ernie completed his service in the Army, they resided in Towanda, Kansas, from 1955 to 1990. In November 1990, they moved to the Orlando, Florida area. Ernie passed away in December of 2007. Delores continued living in Florida until November 2012, at which time she moved to Burlington, Kansas.

They had two children; Linda Audine Austin (Burlington, Ks) and Sheri Lynn Calvert (Deceased), three grandchildren; Shauna (Austin) Devening (New Strawn, Ks.), Chad Austin (Overland Park, Ks.) and Jason Calvert (San Antonio, Texas), and four great grandchildren; Tristan and Brendan Devening, and Jaydee and Paislee Calvert.

She was employed as a Loan Manager for Liberty Loan/Morris Plan in El Dorado for 28 years, as a Loan Officer at the Walnut Valley State Bank in El Dorado for 3 years and with FDIC/RTC in both Wichita, Kansas and Orlando, Florida, for 6 years. From November 1993 until November 2012, she was employed by Walt Disney World in Orlando. Many members of her extended family have enjoyed the Disney tickets she was able to provide for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, both sisters, brothers; Verne, Joseph and Robert, and her daughter Sheri. She was a member of the St. Johns Parish (El Dorado), Holy Redeemer (Kissimmee, Florida) and a current member of St Francis Xavier (Burlington). She loved crossword puzzles and playing all kinds of solitaire. Memorial services will be held on Saturday June 9th at 10 a.m. in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
