Minister lashes out at Dhinakaran

Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, P. Thangamani on Thursday indirectly lashed out at Independent MLA T.T.V. Dhinakaran in the State Assembly, insinuating that Mr. Dhinakaran had been calling him as “TASMAC minister” at various public meetings.

Mr. Thangamani, after presenting the demand for grants of the electricity, prohibition and excise departments, began a sudden onslaught against Mr. Dhinakaran who was not present in the House.

Without naming the MLA, Mr. Thangamani said, “The people of my constituency know me and my work, the Deputy CM and the CM know my work. I won the elections because of Amma (late Jayalalithaa). I didn’t win with hawala money and waving ₹20 notes.”

Mr. Thangamani added, “It is ironical that the owner of a liquor company is making the allegations,” he said.
