Ardis D. Seeman, 87, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating. A luncheon will follow at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be held from 3 to
6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Vinton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Ardis was born on July 17, 1930, in Elkader, the daughter of William and Eliza (Moor) Frieden. She graduated from Elgin High School with the Class of 1948. She attended nurse's training at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, graduating in May of 1951. She practiced nursing for 15 years. Ardis was united in marriage to Charles E. Seeman on Oct. 24, 1966, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. She worked with her husband in their plumbing, heating and sheet metal business until their retirement.
Ardis is survived by her children, Mary (Tony) Rossolille of Bartlett, Ill., Sherry (Brent) Barnes of Springfield, Mo., and Jeff Seeman of Fairfax; five grandchildren, Brittney (Stephen) Settlage, Samantha Seeman and Colton, Colin and Cameron Ellens; three stepgrandchildren, Breanna Rossolille and Nathan and Ciara Barnes; her brother, Milo Frieden of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Frieden, Donna and Arnold Haar and Carroll and Marilyn Seeman.
